Summer Essentials '16

Summer Essentials 2016

Hello lovelies! To kick off the official start to summer (yesterday), I wanted to share some of my summer-time favorites. As you all know, I am a summer-time kinda girl, being from Miami and all, so I absolutely love this time of year. I am so excited for this summer especially because I have a lot of blessings and projects. So enough of my blabbing...let's start summer shopping!

The first item I am in love with is this bikini top from Target. Believe it or not, Target is home to some of the cutest swimwear ever! They have great selections for all body types as well which is great. I purchased this top to match with a black bottom I had previously purchased because it is not only very flattering, but also fun with its bright pops of color. Another item that I actually have in my closet that is a total summer essential are theseespadrilles by Splendid. They come in three colors: tan, red, and blue. They are surprisingly comfy too!

The next two items are perfect for those of us who love to lounge...Pool floats are all the rage on Instagram lately, so you don't want to miss out on this photo-op! I am obsessed withthis one because it is a pineapple and this one  because nothing quite says diva like floating around on a swan. I wanted to share with you all my latest makeup find as well that won't hurt your wallet, Vivid Matte Liquid lipstick by Maybelline. I am not going to share too many details other than I love it because I have a post on it coming soon (stay tuned!)

You can shop these and my other summer essentials below. Which items are you craving this summer? Share with me below...I hearing from you all. FYI, sadly, when the blog was updated all comments on previous posts were deleted *cue tears* so if you go back to previous posts and don't see your comments, I apologize. As always thank you for stopping by the blog and make sure to use lots of SPF! ? XO

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a blessed Easter with you family and loved ones. I know I had a very special Easter Sunday myself. As most of you know, I was recently diagnosed with type one diabetes and it has had a large impact on me, so being able to spend a day filled with my loving family was a true gift. While I am already sharing what I am grateful for, I want you to know I am grateful for each and every one of you, my readers. You all are incredible and It's a PAshion would not be possible without you. On that note, I know you all are also dedicated not only to the blog, but to our Instagram page.

As you all know (if you have been on the app today, haha!) Instagram is in the process of mixing up its algorithm, I wanted to share with you how you can prevent missing out on posts from me. Simply click on one of my Instagram posts and in the top right corner click the three dots and click "Turn on Notifications." Another way is to make sure you stay active with IAP...meaning like, comment, and make sure you're following--being a dedicated follower will keep me on your feed!

Now that my laundry list is all checked off, on to today's post! I am excited to be sharing one of my favorite beauty brands, Not Your Mother's. Don't be fooled by its silly name, this brand means serious business when it comes to hair care. My favorite line? Clean Freak. Clean Freak is the line I use on a daily basis via Not Your Mother's. One of the things I love about this line is that it is an all natural line. Meaning it is environment friendly, not tested on animals, and won't clog your drain. I also love the smell and how it last in my hair unlike most shampoos/conditioners. Trust me ladies, you need NYM's Clean Freak line in your beauty routine! I was introduced to NYM's when I was looking for hair products that would actually clean my hair, especially with Miami's humidity!

NYM's Clean Freak and their other lines are available on Ulta, as well as other retailers near you! Do you use NYM's Clean Freak and love it too? Let me know below! Thank you all again for being such amazing readers! Have a great day! XO
I received these products complimentary from Influenster and Not Your Mother's for testing purposes. All opinions are my own. Thank you to all the brands that make It's a PAshion a reality

Happy Monday! I just wanted to thank you all for your amazing responses to my last Halloween post with J Cosmo. I have gotten amazing feedback from you all on the post, so I am very excited to share this one. J Cosmo is such an incredible makeup artist and I still am mouth-dropped-amazed at her work.

For those of you who know me, you know I love the movie, "Wizard of Oz". One of my favorite characters is the scarecrow, so I really wanted to re-create the look. Even if you are not a "Wizard of Oz" fan, the scarecrow is still an amazing costume for anyone. Scarecrows are such a staple in autumn so what better way to be fall-tastic than to be an autumn-figure? I really do love this look and hope you all do too. Get my look as a "Chic Scarecrow" below.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today and for your interaction with me. Have a great week!
PS: What should I be for Halloween?

Step by Step Tutorial

1. Begin with a clean and moisturized face.

2. In order for your look to last, begin with your favorite primer. (We used Benefit, 'That Gal' Primer).

3. Now you are ready to apply your foundation. The best way to apply foundation is by using The Beauty Blender.

4. Time for the eyes! (We used Morphe Brushes, Koffee Eyeshadow Palette). After you have a neutral eye, add orange eye-shadow as well.

5. Next step for the eyes is to create a wing! The eye-liner wings is to be steady, make sure your wing is always sharp, and even on both eyes. Start from the outer corner of your eye and bring it toward the end of your brow. Tip: Use tape to create a clean line.

6. Begin to draw the angel-wing, bottom eyelashes (We used Black Radiance--available at Walgreen for only $2.99). Be very still, precise, and make them as large and dramatical or simple as you prefer.

7. When you are done with the eyes, it is time to finish off the face! Start by concealing under your eyes with your favorite concealer. (We used Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer).

8. Now to contour! Contour your face how YOU usually do, since you know your face the best (We used Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in Light/Medium).

9. Let's make you a scarecrow officially! Take orange face-paint and make an orange triangle on your nose and fill it in (Similar face-paint to what we used is Snazaroo via Michael's).

10. To complete the nose take the black liquid-liner and make little lines around the triangle you created on your nose. Once again, make them as dramatic or simple as you prefer (We used Black Radiance).

11. With the same orange face-paint create two orange circles on each cheek. Then add any details or "stitches", if you want, to really highlight the cheek details.

10. Use your desired lip-liner and lipstick to set up your lips for the next step. Then extend your smile with black "stitches" using black liquid-liner.

11. To tie the entire look together, add a "chic" hat or straw hat (if you want the known scarecrow look).

Pinch me. No seriously, how is it already almost Halloween?? I cannot get over how fast this year is flying by. I am very excited to share with you all these makeup looks I created with makeup artist Jennifer aka J Cosmo. For those of you who don't know Jennifer, she is an amazing makeup artist and good friend of mine. On top of being a fabulous makeup artist she also has her own non-profit, #PinkLipsForBoobies, in honor of her mom who passed away from breast-cancer. As it is October, the month of breast-cancer awareness I wanted to bring attention to this cancer that 1 in 8 women in the United States will struggle with during her life. To donate click here.

Jennifer helped me create this "catty" look, that you can get too for Halloween. I love the idea of a cat for Halloween because it is a classic, simple, and very sassy! Want this look? J Cosmo and I have listed the steps, along with the products used below, so you can achieve this look this Halloween. There are still more DIY-Halloween looks to come, make sure you are subscribed to the blog and following J Cosmo and It's a PAshion on Instagram for more.

7. Now to contour! Contour your face how YOU usually do, since you know your face the best. (We used Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in Light/Medium).

8. Start filling the bottom part of your nose down your cupisdes bow with a black liquid liner, as pictured. (We used Black Radiance--available at Walgreen for only $2.99).

9. Using the liquid liner again, draw three black-dots on the left side and right side of your upper lip.

10. Again, using the liquid liner, fill in the top of your lip. The whole top lip needs to be black with two thin lines coming out from each side, to give it more definition.

11. To complete this look, draw black whiskers, using the liquid liner for the final time, on both cheeks.

12. To tie the look together, add some cat ears (Similar to mine listed)
